Al-Jaafari discusses with Gatilov the course of Syrian-Syrian talks in Geneva

Geneva, SANA-SANA delegate to Geneva was informed that head of the Syrian Arab Republic to Geneva, Bashar al-Jaafari, held today a new meeting with deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Gennady Gatilov to discuss the course of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue being run in Geneva.

Gatilov, in a press statement, following his meeting with “al-Riyadh opposition”, renewed Russia’s full support to the efforts of UN Special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, saying that holding a direct dialogue meantime between the delegation of Syrian Arab Republic and the delegations of “oppositions” is not possible.

He added that Moscow has suggested to the delegation of “al-Riyadh opposition” to continue contacts regarding the breaches of cessation of hostilities in Syria.

Gatilov considered that members of “al-Riyadh opposition” maybe don’t possess full information about the development of situation on the ground in Syria, saying the information they have don’t keep up with reality.

He said “there is a joint understanding on the need for going ahead in the settlement of crisis in Syria.”

For its part, the Russian mission to the International organizations in Geneva said that Gatilov held consultations with the delegation of “Cairo Platform” dealing with the crisis in Syria.
